What actions did you take (updating your board; installing a MOD, style or extension; etc.) prior to this problem becoming noticeable? Changed the Firewall
Please describe your problem. I'm trying to assist our IT department since they changed our Firewall and broke the email from our website. Our WP Mail plugin for Wordpress and the SMTP email configured in phpBB share the same details, and have the same problem. I can send a test email to myself from the ACP if I disable SSL verification. If I enable verification I get this error:
[phpBB Debug] PHP Warning: in file [ROOT]/includes/functions_messenger.php on line 1616: stream_socket_enable_crypto(): SSL operation failed with code 1. OpenSSL Error messages: error:1416F086:SSL routines:tls_process_server_certificate:certificate verify failed
So I understand what this means, but I don't know what to do about it. The site is using HTTPS with a valid certificate, I thought this was the same certificate that SSL / TLS would use? We are using smtp.office365.com and obviously the login/account details are correct (I have also verified this from Powershell).
I get this is not directly a phpBB problem - but I hoped someone might have some similar experience and some insight...
