1. Has the address starting with ssl really been confirmed?
On their page it says:
Server: smtp.ionos.com
Port: 465
Connection Type: SSL/TLS
2. Change the authorization method from PLAIN to LOGIN
3. Alternatively, other options from the ionos website:
Using the Alternative SMTP Port 587
If your email program cannot connect to the outgoing mail server even though all the details are correct, it may be that access to port 465 is blocked on your network. If this is the case, IONOS offers the alternative port 587.
