I tried that once, pruning accounts with 0 posts thinking that the accounts were, and had always been, inactive. However, upon inspecting some of the accounts that turned up in the prune search I noticed that several of the accounts had custom avatars set. This could only be the case if the accounts had indeed been active. After that every so often I'll prune accounts with no activity in two years with 0 posts.
Another issue is that I noticed in our user logs a user with 0 posts that had updated their password. This seemed odd at first until I realized that there are members that log in just to read posts, but don't post anything themselves. By logging in they can easily see which posts are new.
These two observations led me to the decision to just leave old 0 post accounts alone. Besides, you never know when one of these 0 post members will read something that inspires them to finally break the silence and post on the forum.
